The top two teams of last season faced off in the newly dubbed Budweiser Gardens this past Friday night as the Whalers are still looking for their first win on the road this season. This is also the first game we got to see Simon Karlsson play for the Whalers.

There was a lot of back and forth action in the first with the only goal coming from London on the power play (Starting to sound like last game already). The goal was scored by Bo Horvat fifteen seconds into the Alex Aleardi penalty for Cross Checking. The Knights killed off all four of the penalties they took while the Whalers outshot the Knights 22-16 in the opening period.

Horvat scores again in the second period followed by a Max Domi goal to give the Knights a 3-0 lead after two.

Noesen puts the Whalers on the board with a powerplay goal in the third, but that would end up being the lone goal for the Whalers. Seth Griffith scores his eighth of the year to give the Knights a 4-1 win over the struggling Whalers.

The Whalers need to get their special teams play together. Going 1-9 on the extra man is not something they want to continue. The Whalers next game is against the Soo Greyhound for their annual Pink Out Game. Tickets are still available at
